What Does That "WINDOWS" Key or   Really Do?

Almost all new keyboards include a "Windows" key.  The one with the Microsoft Flag icon, usually located between the <CTRL> and the <ALT> keys on the lower left of the keyboard.  Some Keyboards have a second “Windows” key on the right side as well.

Beyond just clicking it to open the Start menu, you can use it for many, much more useful things:

To minimize all the open Windows: + D

To show all the windows again:  + Shift + M

Jump to Windows Explorer + E

Cycle across the Taskbar (the open windows) + Tab  (Alt + Tab will do the same thing in a window in the middle of the screen)

Search/Find + F

Is it Search or is it Find? It's called Search on the menu but the shortcut goes back to the days when it was called Find.

Run + R

Some people never use the Run command but others do it all the time.

System Properties + Break

This is the equivalent of clicking the System icon in Control Panel or the Properties option under the My Computer desktop icon.
